VCE continues to bring construction education and skills training with Construction Camps!
The next two sessions scheduled are with Butte County Community School and Prospect High School.
- Butte County Community School begins Core Construction Skills class on October 5, 2021. Meeting for 2 hours, 2 times per week, for 4 weeks, students will learn soft skills such as communication, terminology and maths, as well as hard skills learned from Hands On Tool Training. Lecture will be based on the NCCER Core Curriculum, Lab will be a physical project, giving the students the opportunity to use hammers, saws, squares, and more.
- Prospect High School begins Electrical Training on November 2, 2021. This camp takes students through commercial and residential electrical applications. Once a week, for 6 weeks, Hands On Tool Training lets students experience the technical aspects of wiring, lighting, outlet placement and more. These specialty trade camps allow the students to see the vast array of construction career opportunities available to them.
To provide these camps, Valley Contractors Exchange uses experienced staff and members to run the class and teach the trades. Now we need the materials for projects. We work with local supplier members to get the best prices and are looking to you to help purchase them. You can support construction education with a donation toward camp materials. Choose your donation level and be included in all press recognition of the camps.
